Does your game simply crash, without any error messages, and you just get a BLACK Screen for few seconds and the game quits you to the Desktop? Sometimes you may also get a black screen, saying that the 'Input or Mode is not supported', or 'Frequency Out of range'. Or, do you have problem booting up the Game? When you click on the large 'PLAY!' Button, the game window says the game is running, but then it might say 'Synchronising save games' and after that everything closes?.If you happen to face any of the above, then try to manually edit the game's config file, which is ConvictionUserPC.ini. Open this config file i.e.
'ConvictionUserPC.ini' with notepad, and search for the following heading/lines e.g.: UserVideoOptions.YourUSER.ACCOUNTName VisualQuality=2 StartupFullscreen=True FullscreenViewportX= FullscreenViewportY= MaxRefreshRate=60 WindowedViewportX= WindowedViewportY= UseVSync=False UseHDR=True MonitorAspect=-1.000000. Now enter the correct/current values relating to your Desktop's Screen Resolution Mode inside the 'FullscreenViewportX/Y=' lines and save this file. The above config file can be found here: C: ProgramData Ubisoft Conviction ConvictionUserPC.ini. Check what values are entered here, inside the 'FullscreenViewportX/Y' lines. These Folders may be 'Hidden' under Windows, so make a note of this. First Patch the game to the latest version, and then try entering these values. For Windows XP, try looking for the above file i.e.
'ConvictionUserPC.ini' under the following path, i.e. C: Documents and Settings All Users or Owner Application Data Ubisoft Conviction. An example Topic: 2. Are you getting Missing MENU options and in-game textures? And you are using an ATI Video card? Is your Game's Main MENU missing, and/or the Options are not properly visible, like e.g.
Something like this one? Kindly click on the Image URL: IF you are using an ATI Graphics Card, then you can try doing the following: Under ATI's CCC (Catalyst Control Center), try increasing the value of 'Mipmap Detail Level' setting, under the 3D section. Move/increase the slider to the right side to QUALITY Mode, and then check the in-game graphics.
If you increase the value of 'Mipmap Detail Level', then the Textures should look more detailed/sharp. Also make sure all the settings under 3D section (e.g.
Anti-Aliasing, Anisotropic Filtering etc.), are first set to the 'Use application settings' option. And also 'disable' the setting Catalyst A.I, (TICK the 'Disable Catalyst A.I.' Box), this is important! Do you have the 'iZ3D driver' installed? If yes, then add the Game's EXE i.e.
Splinter Cell:Conviction Xbox One Controller Fix. Conviction game directory where the game exe is located. On the top left corner and the Program/Game exe on. Conviction_game.exe problems include high CPU usage, application errors, and possible virus infection. Here are the top five most common Conviction_game.exe problems and how to fix them.
'convictiongame.exe' as well as 'gu.exe', to the Exceptions list of iZ3D, or remove this driver from your System. Some gamers have complained that their Screen Resolution is not supported by this game? Actually, if you try to change the Video resolution in Splinter Cell: Conviction, sometimes you may find the resolution that matches your display is missing from the list (e.g. On some WideScreen Monitors). You might not notice it, but to solve this issue, you can actually scroll down the list of resolutions from the Menu. Just Scroll down the list to get your desired Screen Resolution. Are you sometimes getting this Message i.e.
'convictiongame.exe has stopped working'? Sometimes, NOT always, the game might hang at launch when it tries to auto detect the PC/system components. If this happens, you can bypass this. First launch the game, and manually adjust your desired optimal Game settings by yourself. Now, go to your game’s installation directory and rename the file systemdetection.dll to something else like e.g.
Now launch the game – it will throw an error message, but the game should launch instead of hanging. But make a BACKUP of the above 'systemdetection.dll' file, before making any changes. But, when you do the above method, you might sometimes notice horrible in-game FPS lag, and/or your resolution isn't supported, because the game might also start in an un-supported Screen RES, because the above.dll file has been renamed/deleted.
So to fix the Screen Resolution problem, just follow STEP 1 which I've listed above, by editing the ConvictionUserPC.ini file. To fix the in-game Lag & Low FPS, if you are using a QUAD-core CPU, or even Dual CPU, just check and enable the CPU Core Affinity via the Task manager. After you have loaded the Game's Main Menu, Open Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL/CTRL+SHIFT+ESC) and Click on the Processes Tab.
On the Processes tab, at the bottom click on the 'Show processes from all users' Button. Now Right click the process i.e. Convictiongame.exe, and Click on the 'Set Affinity' option, and then look for the boxes labelled as CPU 0, CPU 1 etc. Just see how many CPU cores does the game fully utilize? How many boxes are 'Checked' depending on your CPU model? If you find any of the cores un-checked, then just Tick the boxes. But you have to do this in every Mission, and Game level, if the above 'systemdetection.dll' file has been altered.
But make a note that the above trick of renaming the 'systemdetection.dll' file, is Not recommended to play the game. There could be other causes of this in-game crash.
There is another method to solve this CRASH, by enabling a hidden ADMIN account on your PC, by using the command net user administrator /active:yes at the Command prompt. First make sure you Launch and run the game as an ADMIN, if using Win 7/Vista. Or, just disable User Account Control/UAC. But if you happen to face this startup crash, then you can try the above method. Are you getting a General Protection Fault/GPF error, when you play Co-Op, or the MP/Online part of Conviction?
Click on this image URL: This is a Known Windows OS error, the cause of which can vary. A GPF is an error message generated by Windows, indicating that a program being used attempted to access a portion of memory that is either invalid or already in use. Click on the image link below: This Error mostly relates to the UBI GameLauncher file. Which version of game do you have, Retail DVD or STEAM? First you need to Manually delete the entire 'Ubisoft Game Launcher' folder, e.g. From C: Program Files Ubisoft Ubisoft Game Launcher, or C: Program Files (x86) Ubisoft Ubisoft Game Launcher. Also remove it from Control Panel- Add/Remove programs (or Programs & Features).
After that again re-install the Game Launcher from the disk/DVD. Browse the DVD, and go to 'Support folder- Game Launcher', and run the UbisoftGameLauncherInstaller.exe file.
STEAM's path should be something like this e.g.: C: Program Files (x86) Steam SteamApps Common Tom Clancy's Splinter cell Conviction Redist GameLauncher UbisoftGameLauncher Installer.exe. Or, you can install the above software from here: If you still get this Error, then try deleting the 'Registry' entries of the Launcher, and then do a reinstall of the Game Launcher file, as told above. First remove it from HKEYLOCALMACHINE SOFTWARE Wow6432Node Ubisoft Ub isoft Game Launcher (for 64 bit OS), or HKEYLOCALMACHINE SOFTWARE Ubisoft Ubisoft Game Launcher. These are just general game tweaks, which I think have known to work for Conviction Game. Originally posted by KingDaniel0: 5.

This is just a Temp workaround for this Error. Thanks for providing this info. I have made a note of this solution, just in case I face this GPF error. I have a different issue than those stated here. My game runs perfectly. I don't have any crashes, freezes, black screens, etc.
While playing the game. My problem crops up when I try to exit and return to Windows. I get a BSOD upon exiting, each and every single time. So much so that I've stopped playing the game for fear that it might damage some file or setting. Anyway, I've tried everything.
Drivers are fully up to date. I have an AMD Radeon 6970 card with 2 GB RAM. I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit with 12 GB RAM. Plenty of hard drive space, recently defragged, no viruses, no spyware, no malware (daily scans on most stuff, weekly for the rest). I can run the game full screen with no issues. I can play through the whole thing, even Denial Ops, which I really enjoy playing, but it's always the same whenever I try to exit. Some one on Origin suggested Alt-Ctrl-Del'ing my way to the Task Manager and trying to shut down the game from there.
Brilliant idea. Shut down the game file, no BSOD.
But the UPlayBrowser was still running and when I tried to shut that down, BSOD. So, obviously, that's the culprit. The error I get is something about a page fault or there not being an open page, something like that. Haven't run it in a while to avoid the BSOD. Anyone else ever have this issue?
Oh and I've tried rolling back my drivers, even tried installing DX9 to see if that would help. (Currently have DX11 installed.) I've tried running as admin and using Win XP (SP3) compatibility, Win XP (SP2), Win Vista (SP1), Win Vista (SP2) and just plain old Win Vista.
I have the game set to 1920x1080 resolution.
